Brick Wall help- James Oscar Maxwell

I’m hoping someone may be able to help me with a brick wall I’ve been struggling with for years!

My ancestor James Oscar MAXWELL was born in Waco on 4 Nov 1892 (according to his death certificate) to J B Maxwell and Viola Brown, who were married in McLennan County on 5 Feb 1891 (I have that record). Reportedly, Viola died shortly after James’s birth, and the baby’s grandmother Eliza Maxwell came from Georgia to accompany her widower son and his baby back to Georgia on the train.

What I am trying to find are records of  James Oscar’s birth, **Viola’s death**, and/or clues to what the family was doing in TX and how long they were there.

I suspect that Viola’s family (father Simeon Brown) may have accompanied them to TX as well, but he wound up back in Georgia by 1910 and in Alabama by the end of his life in 1913.

Any fresh leads would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time.
